Star Trek Series Pitch

Before the Star Trek people came out with Enterprise, which I grew to like, I thought that a good Star Trek series could be based on those sub-space corridors that Voyager came across toward the end of the series. Seven of Nine, Commander Data, and a few other characters (if Subcommander T'pol's hot descendant was on the crew, that would be fine) could volunteer for a mission in which they map the corridors. This might put them in other galaxies or universes with all kinds of possibilities for stories outside the restrictions of the usual Star Trek universe.
